A non-government voluntary development organization working in the hilly region of Comilla since 1996.
Who We Are
Human Development Organization (HDO) is a non-government voluntary development organization, established in 1996 with the initiative of a few committed local young individuals having substantial experience in grassroots level development activities.
The organization was conceived with the primary objective of improving the socioeconomic, cultural and environmental conditions of the hilly marginal farmers, rural poor and disadvantaged women — through developing organizations of the poor and enabling them to undertake various income generating activities and development programs.
The organization is located in the hilly region of Bangladesh. It has a General Body consisting of 21 members and an executive committee comprising 07 members for its smooth functioning. HDO primarily organizes groups by motivating and raising their consciousness on social issues and rights.

Our mission is to work with marginalized people and community for their social and economic empowerment by promoting education, employment, health, gender equity.

Working Areas
Comilla Sadar South Upazila (4 No. Barapara Union, Lalmai hilly area), Laksham Upazila (Kandirpar Union), and Borura, Monuhorgonj and Chowddugram upazilas of Comilla district.
Our Beneficiaries
HDO works with the Lalmai hilly rural poor and disadvantaged population of society — the vulnerable women, children, landless laborers, rural artisans, small and marginal farmers and other occupation groups who live in rural areas below the poverty line. Special focus is given to women and gender issues in all programmes.
